The home of
Pinot Noir.
Your starting point
for the south of South Tyrol
Montan lies at 500 m on the eastern side of the South Tyrolean Unterland, surrounded by vineyards, apple orchards and the Trudner Horn Nature Park. Montan is said to be the home of Pinot Noir – and the sunny, well-ventilated slopes bear this out: Pinot Noir thrives here at the highest level.
Above the village stand Enn Castle and the ruins of Castelfeder, two historically significant sites. Hiking up to them, a wide view opens up over the Adige Valley with its orchards and vineyards.
From the Goldener Löwe you set off straight onto hikes, wine trails and excursions – and return in the evening to your room in the village centre.
